We use a licensed measuring software program to capture data from field measurements. A small computer holds the data while our technicians gather the measurements using a laser measuring tool. This ensures that all data is accurate before the technician compiles all the information into the CAD software. At this point most of the work is complete. Then CAD standards, dimension and labeling take place. Next, plots of the drawings are made and the technician schedules another visit to the job site. This is considered the final audit, where all dimensions are checked for accuracy against "as built" existing conditions. Notes are taken and all changes are applied to the drawing for final submission.
By employing scanning technology of the exterior of the building the point cloud can be used to generate a 2D orthographic photo. This orthographic photo then can be traced in CAD software quickly for an accurate turn around. Using our licensed PointCAB software elevations and layouts can be generated.
We use an image rendered with our point cloud software to produce a tiled photo of the site plan. We use this scaled image to trace our site plan leaving us with an accurate representation of placement of site objects and curves of hard-scape elements. We start early in the morning to make sure the 6-15 minute scans will be dense enough to represent your desired details A 3000 sq ft space will take around 15 scans for excellent resolution.
We now have the ability to deliver our floorplans in two days via the web. It is an online secure portal for your commercial & residential projects. Each scan position is presented in a 360 degree panoramic photo. It displays your direction and focus while you rotate to your desired location.
There are many tools available for unit conversion, multiple point to point measurements, document notes and ability to add links. This is a powerful tool for conveying information about the scope of a project easily and effortlessly. If you have a desktop flash-browser you can gain access to the property virtually.
Finally the day has come where all objects required in a floor plan automatically create elevations. These plans are exportable to many common file formats. AutoCAD, Sketchup and Revit drawings/models can be generated by completing a simple onsite floor plan survey. A benefit to utilizing the onsite tablet approach to floor plan generation is each opening comes with the 3 measurements included in the floor plan deliverable. You will receive a record of all opening heights, sill heights and widths. If you want to develop your own elevations our floor plans have you covered.
Once the scans are complete, we stitch the individual scans together. There are numerous workflows available to develop site, floor or exterior elevation plans. This data is transferable in either 3d or 2d file options to match your workflow. All of our projects utilize the FARO scanning technology.
